What the SportPesa footer says
The current SportPesa Kenya footer publishes a licence statement for the website operator and a separate statement for the casino products provider, along with identifiers. These are claims made on the operator’s own site. We have not matched the exact legal entities, domain and product permissions against a current regulator register.
A brand name is not a legal entity. When checking authorisation, compare the company name, licence identifier, product type, domain and effective dates against an official regulator notice or register. An old screenshot or an affiliate review is not a substitute.
Kenya’s current statutory framework
Kenya Law publishes the Gambling Control Act, 2025. Read the primary statute and any commencement notices, regulations or regulator guidance relevant to the activity. A statute sets the framework; it does not by itself confirm that a particular operator holds an active authorisation.
Regulatory institutions and requirements can change. Check current information from the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya and the Kenya Law publication rather than relying on legacy references or third-party summaries.
Separate law, operator claims and independent checks
Our evidence register distinguishes three things: primary law, operator-published service information and independently verified facts. In this review, SportPesa’s own licence footer is operator-published; an independent register match has not been completed. Payment instructions and products are also operator-published and not transaction tests.
If legal status is important to your decision, verify it directly with the current regulator and consult a qualified Kenyan professional for advice about your circumstances. We do not make a legal conclusion about an individual user.
