Know which match period a market covers

A 1X2 or match-result market commonly refers to the score at the end of regulation time, while qualification markets may account for extra time or penalties. First-half and second-half markets settle on their stated period. Check the exact text in SportPesa’s rules for the market you selected.

Competition format matters too. League matches, two-leg ties and cup ties can have different result conditions. Do not assume a market called “to qualify” is interchangeable with a match-winner selection.

Common football market families

Totals focus on a threshold such as total goals; both-teams-to-score asks whether each side scores; handicaps adjust a team’s starting position for settlement; double chance covers two of the three standard result outcomes. Player markets may specify goals, shots or other events and often include participation conditions.

The examples explain category labels only. They are not a recommendation or a statement that every market is currently available for every fixture. Use the event page and full terms.

Check lineups, void conditions and the receipt

Some player markets can be void if a named player does not participate. An event can be postponed or abandoned, and a market can be settled under a sport-specific rule. Read the relevant terms rather than applying a general assumption.

After submission, verify the accepted selection, price, stake and reference in the bet history. Save the receipt if you later need to ask support about a settlement.
